Jan 2012 Cabin NO snow pics...

Add VideoJust a few shots from a nice warm(ish) weekend in January. Teresa and I had a fun but quick trip up and down the mountains. I just wish I could have been fast enough to get a picture of Teresa as she fell (or jumped) into the creek.

Heading to Hump Mountain or the falls...

Heading up or over this weekend... just not sure which. Hump Mountain is only a 2 hour hike (straight up) or over to the falls behind my Aunt Connie's house. The picture of the falls is a bit deceptive as they are real tall and have 3 or 4 cut outs or stair steps where the water pools. This shot was taken a few winters ago and is of my brother. The Hump picture is a panorama which I put together from a year or so ago.

Proof Jeff made it to the top...

Well, there is a rumor that Jeff had a helicopter drop him off on top of Hump Mtn. Since he's head of quality at Edwards and Associates (Bell Helicopter) it may be more than just talk...

More from the top of Hump Mtn.

This is a shot looking back to Bradley Gap, Yellow Mtn. and Roan Mtn.

Our property borders the National Forest land. A nice days hike to the top of Hump Mtn. takes about 1 1/2 hours and is well worth it for the view alone.

If you are on top of Hump Mtn. you get a great view of Grandfather Mtn., Sugar Mtn. and Beech Mtn.

A View of TN from Hump Mtn

Here is a shot looking over the town of Roan Mtn, TN. In the background you can see Watauga Lake and even Elizabethton, TN.

Hiking on the Appalachian Trail

This is a shot of Mike, Brett, Tim and Moses (Greg) as we head up to the top of Hump Mtn on the TN/NC line. If you look you can see a through hiker just ahead of us about midway up the hill. The second photo is a close up.
